U.S. Military All Stars Edge A's, 4-3

US Military All Stars

The U.S. Military All Stars edged the Marshall A's 4-3 Sunday night in exhibition play. The event proved to be a great time for all who attended, with raffles, contests, and most importantly, great baseball being played.

The US Military team jumped out to a 3-0 lead on starter Nate Dickhausen with 1 of those runs unearned.

The A's got one run back in the 5th inning, cutting the deficit to 3-1.

The A's rallied for two more in the 6th inning, courtesy of a Derek West two run single with the bases loaded.

With runners on first and second and nobody out, the A's then threatened to take the lead. But the US Military All Stars went to their bullpen and were able to escape further damage.

The All Stars scored once in the top of the 7th off Dickhausen, which proved to be the decisive run.

The A's and US Military team were able to raise funds and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project, benifitting soldiers injured while defending our great nation.

The Marshall Baseball Association would like to thank all the fans for showing their support of our troops, as well as Marshall baseball. The MBA would also like to thank all of our sponsors for helping to make this great event possible.
