MARSHALL,Minn. — The Marshall A’s close the regular season with two games this week, playing at Milroy on Wednesday, July 17 (7:30 p.m.) before hosting Bird Island on Sunday, July 21 (5 p.m.).
Marshall begins the week tied with Milroy for third place in the Corn Belt League standings (as of July 16). The top four teams in the league standings automatically qualify for the eight-team Region 4C Tournament on Aug. 3-4 and Aug. 9-11 in Willmar. Region 4C has THREE teams qualify for the state tournament starting on Aug. 16 and continuing through Labor Day.
With the recent results, one win by the A’s or one loss by Granite Falls in the final two games, will secure a spot in the region tournament. But, with tiebreakers (the mathematicians in the league), we are 99 percent sure the A’s have locked up a spot in August.
