RAYMOND, Minn. – The Marshall A’s suffered its first loss of the season on Friday falling to the Raymond Rockets, 15-3 in seven innings.
Marshall started the game strong with a lead-off double by Peyton Grant before Connor Neubeck made the score 1-0 with a triple.
Ryan VanMoer and Neubeck led the A’s with two hits apiece, while AJ Toulouse, Ryan Schwagel, Matt Hmielewksi, Chase Douglas and Seth Resnick each had one hit.
Charlie Jacobson started on the mound for the A’s and struck out seven in three innings, but he struggled with his control as he walked five and hit four batters. Resnick and Jordan Mernaugh also pitched for the A’s.
A’s rookie Owen Kesteloot made his first appearance on the mound and joined an elite group of pitchers around the state to give-up a home run to Raymond legend, Tyler Steen.
