MARSHALL, Minn. – The Marshall A’s moved to 2-0 on the season with a thrilling come-from-behind, 11-9 victory over the Minneota Mudhens in non-league action on Wednesday (May 24).
Marshall trailed 9-2 in the third inning before scoring nine unanswered, including three in the eighth in rally for the win.
Logan Terfeher was outstanding in relief as tossed 6 1/3 innings, allowed just one batter (hit by pitch) to reach base, while recording four strikeouts.
The A’s cracked out 17 hits in the game with Connor Neubeck finished 4 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Logan Tomasek, making his season debut, finished with two hits, while scoring two runs.
Peyton Grant, Chase Douglas, Jordan Mernaugh and Hunter Wienhoff all finished with two hits, while AJ Toulouse, Zach Olsen and Seth Resnick each collected one hit.
Marshall led 2-0 after two innings before Minneota would plate nine runs on eight hits (four infield hits) and would take advantage of an error to build a 9-2 lead.
Wes Sarsland started for the A’s and fired an efficient 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts, two walks, while allowing five earned runs.
Marshall returns to the diamond on Friday night with 7:30 p.m. showdown at Raymond before making the short trip east on Sunday for a 5 p.m. match-up at Milroy.
