(June 24, 2025) – Marshall: The Marshall Baseball Association (MBA) is proud to announce the newest inductee into the Marshall Baseball Hall of Fame as longtime Marshall baseball supporter, Greg ‘Shaker’ Shaikoski, will be honored prior to the Marshall A’s game versus this Milroy Yankees on Sunday, June 29, starting at 5 p.m.at Legion Field.
The Marshall Baseball Hall of Fame was established in 2015 and now has 19 members.
Greg Shaikoski, also known as ‘Shaker’ in the Marshall baseball community, served in many different roles for Marshall baseball beginning in 1997, when he first volunteered to help coach his son’s 10U travel team.
Shaikoski would go on to help coach for four years until he transitioned to helping with stats during his son’s VFW and Legion years. Also, during this time, his other roles included MAYBA president, concessions manager, and time spent on the MAYBA/Marshall Baseball Association board. He was very involved with some of Marshall’s biggest baseball events, including hosting the 1999 Minnesota State Amateur Tournament, the 2005 Minnesota State VFW Tournament, the 2007 Central Planes Legion Regional Tournament, and numerous youth baseball tournaments.
If not helping with volunteering, Shaikoski was a dedicated fan to the Marshall A’s and Marshall Tiger baseball from 2003-08 when his son played for both teams. He enjoyed following the teams over the years and continues to enjoy the relationships made throughout this journey.
He continues his love for baseball watching the Twins games and his grandson play baseball for Mankato, while keeping up with the Marshall teams.
The Marshall Baseball Association is proud to honor ‘Shaker’ for his contributions to Marshall Baseball.
