MARSHALL A’S BASEBALL IS HERE WITH SEASON OPENER ON MAY 10!; ZACH OLSON TAKES OVER AS FIELD MANAGER

MARSHALL, Minn. – The Marshall A’s baseball season is just over a week away with the 2026 opener at home on Sunday, May 10, versus the Milroy Yankees with first pitch at 5 p.m. at Legion Field.

It’s a busy opening week for the green and gold as the squad will also play host to the Willmar Rails on Friday, May 15, and the Raymond Rockets on Sunday, May 17.

There are some exciting changes for the Marshall Baseball Association (Marshall A’s) this season with a new field manager along with a new district and class system from the Minnesota Baseball Association.

Longtime A’s player and assistant coach, Zach Olson, will take over as field manager for the A’s in 2026. Olson, who played collegiately for Southwest Minnesota State, has spent 13 years as a player and coach for the A’s. He takes over for Ryan Schwagel, who did an outstanding job managing the ballclub for seven seasons, handling both on-field and off-field duties.

Don’t worry A’s fans, Schwagel won’t be away from the team, as he will serve as an assistant coach and will continue his outstanding batting and defense for the squad. Thank you Ryan for your commitment to A’s baseball and your continued involvement with the team, not only on the field, but with numerous off-field duties.

The A’s will continue to play in the ever-competed Corn Belt League during the regular season but will now be members of Class ‘B’ and will play in District 8, along with Raymond, Bird Island, Willmar Rails and the Willmar Indians. Two teams from the district tournament, played in Raymond on Aug. 8-9 and Aug. 15, will qualify for the state tournament.

The Marshall Baseball Association would like to once again say THANK YOU to all our amazing sponsors for helping make A’s baseball continue each season and to make all home games FREE at Legion Field.
