MARSHALL, Minn. – The Marshall A’s dropped a hard-fought 3-0 game to the Milroy Yankees on Wednesday night in front a large crowd at Legion Field.
The Yankees scored three runs in the third inning to earn the victory and salvage a regular season split with the A’s. Marshall won the first meeting back on May 28.
Charlie Jacobson started on the mound for the A’s and tossed five innings, recording nine strikeouts with four walks, while allowing three runs on five hits. Logan Terfehr fired the final four innings and allowed just one hit with five strikeouts.
Marshall was limited to four hits with AJ Toulouse, Connor Neubeck, Zach Olsen and Hunter Wienhoff each picking up one hit.
Milroy used two walks, a hit by pitch, a wild pitch and two base hits, including a two-out, two-run single to score its three runs in the third frame.
Marshall, now 11-5 overall, welcomes Corn Belt League leader, Raymond, for ‘Hall of Fame’ Night on Friday with first pitch at 7:30 Legion Field. Make sure and get to the ballpark early as prior to first pitch, Russ Sanow, will be inducted into the Marshall Baseball Hall of Fame.
